2026 Toyota 4Runner

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner offers two available powertrains. The turbocharged 2.4-liter i-FORCE engine produces up to 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The available i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain increases output to 326 net combined horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. Both powertrains are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the grade and configuration, the 4Runner is available with rear-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive, or full-time four-wheel drive. Available Multi-Terrain Select can adjust vehicle settings for surfaces such as mud, dirt, and sand, while available CRAWL Control is designed to assist with low-speed off-road driving. The TRD Pro and Trailhunter include a Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism for increased suspension articulation. When properly equipped, the 4Runner can tow up to 6,000 pounds.

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner offers seating for up to seven passengers when equipped with its available third row. Tumble-fold rear seats provide easier access to the cargo area, while folding the seats creates up to 90.2 cubic feet of cargo space. The standard power rear window can be raised or lowered with the push of a button to provide access to the cargo area. Available interior features include heated and ventilated front seats, SofTex-trimmed seating, leather-trimmed seating, and a power moonroof. Select grades also offer a hands-free power liftgate. The Limited features leather-trimmed heated and ventilated front seats, while the Platinum adds premium leather-trimmed seating and heated second-row outboard seats.

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner includes an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen or an available 14-inch touchscreen, depending on the grade. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto compatibility are included with the multimedia system. Available technology includes enhanced Qi wireless charging, USB-C data and charging ports, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. An available 14-speaker JBL premium audio system includes an externally coupled subwoofer and a removable JBL FLEX portable speaker. A Smart Key System with push-button start is standard across the lineup. On applicable grades, Digital Key compatibility through an active Remote Connect subscription allows a compatible smartphone to perform supported locking, unlocking, and vehicle-starting functions.

Every 2026 Toyota 4Runner comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. The suite includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. Proactive Driving Assist can provide gentle braking or steering support under certain operating conditions. The system can assist with maintaining distance from a preceding vehicle, pedestrian, or bicyclist and can provide gentle braking support when entering curves. Toyota also includes Blind Spot Monitor and offers Rear Cross-Traffic Alert within the 4Runner lineup. These technologies are driver-assistance features and do not replace safe and attentive driving.

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner is available in nine grades: SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, Trailhunter, and TRD Pro. The SR5 includes an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen, a 7-inch color multi-information display, LED headlights and fog lights, and available third-row seating. The TRD Sport adds a sport-tuned suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and Qi wireless charging. The TRD Sport Premium adds SofTex-trimmed power seats, a 14-inch touchscreen, JBL premium audio, a hands-free power liftgate, and a heated steering wheel. The TRD Off-Road features 18-inch alloy wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires, Bilstein monotube shocks with remote reservoirs, Multi-Terrain Select, and CRAWL Control. The TRD Off-Road Premium adds SofTex-trimmed power seats, a Multi-Terrain Monitor, a 14-inch touchscreen, JBL premium audio, and a hands-free power liftgate. The Limited adds heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front seats, a 14-inch touchscreen, JBL premium audio, and a power moonroof. The Platinum includes premium leather-trimmed seating, heated second-row outboard seats, a head-up display, a Tow Technology Package, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The Trailhunter features Old Man Emu forged monotube shocks, 33-inch Toyo all-terrain tires, an onboard air compressor, a high-mount air intake, and an ARB roof rack. The TRD Pro includes TRD-tuned FOX internal bypass QS3 shocks, 33-inch Toyo all-terrain tires, a TRD performance air intake and exhaust, and the Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism. The i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain is available on the TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, and Limited. It is standard on the Platinum, Trailhunter, and TRD Pro.
